Cow Information

Cows are domesticated animals raised for meat, milk, dairy products and leather. Technically cow refers only to female bovines, while male bovines are called bulls. Cows were domesticated 5,000 years ago. These animals occupy an important role in the human history. In older times cows were used as work animals to pull carts and plow fields. In 1611 cows arrived to America brought by pilgrims. In India for example, cows were considered sacre animals. There are 920 breeds of cow in the world today.
